Since the 1960s, our company has been committed to respecting the land and appreciating its fruits. The product of this work was collected by Gabriele Florio, who in 2016 took over the winery with the purpose of continuing the founder's work, but also to renew. The oldest respect, the most modern use of harvesting and winemaking techniques.

The Philosophy

Our farm was founded in the early sixties, on the initiative of Novilio Mariani, who, having settled with his family in the locality of Cervognano and precisely in what in the ancient cadastral maps is indicated as "Villa Elvira", was the first of his family to dedicate himself to the production of wine. In fact, the area of Cervognano has been known since ancient times for its natural predisposition to the cultivation of vines.

Then in two thousand sixteen, the passion for this activity prompted Gabriele Florio, Novilio's acquired nephew, to take over the business with the purpose of continuing the founder's activity, but also the purpose of renovation: example, the new winery headquarters, or the purpose of taking advantage of the new and more modern techniques of vine cultivation and winemaking.

Our History

Our winery was founded in the early 1960s, on the initiative of Novilio Mariani, who, having settled with his family in the locality of Cervognano and precisely in what in the ancient cadastral maps is indicated as "Villa Elvira," was the first of his family to devote himself to the production of wine. Today, as then, the traditional values of the area are perceptible in every drop of the wines of La Combarbia

The winery

Realized only in recent years, Gabriele's winery was created with the intention of adapting production with the most modern technologies, while maintaining the natural tradition that distinguishes the wines produced by La Combarbia. It is the ideal place, a temple of passion and dedication to the territory

The territory

The production grounds are within the territory of Montepulciano, Tuscany. It is there that La Combarbia, the ancient meeting place of the village's peasants, used to gather inside rooms adjoining the village church to spend a carefree evening in each other's company, conversing with each other and telling stories from fantasy or concerning personal pasts.
